Join John Muir Trust on a dawn walk for a chance to see these impressive birds strut their stuff at the Dun Coillich lek against the stunning backdrop of Schiehallion. Well worth getting out of bed for!
The walk will be led with John Muir Trust and Dun Coillich (HPCLT) representatives and is a Heart of Scotland Forest Partnership event.
You will walk for around 20 minutes to the best viewpoint for the lek where there will be plenty of time for you to view the birds through binoculars and telescopes as the sun rises.
Suitable footwear and warm clothing essential, it can often be minus zero on these morning walks.
Tea/Coffee supplied afterwards back at the car to help you warm up.

Dun Coillich Rural Skills Training Course
We are now taking applications for our next Rural Skills Training Course which will start on the 14th of February 2024 (closing date for applications is the 7th of February). The course runs for 20 weeks every Wednesday and some Thursdays and is completely free of charge. The course offers a mix of certified training (chainsaw, brushcutter, ATV, pesticide use, first aid), non-certified training days (dyking, ropes access, fencing, habitat monitoring); alongside practical work experience and skills development. Throughout the course, our trainees are given the opportunity to improve their wider skills and are encouraged to explore their interests and strengths in a supportive environment.
