Introduction to Butterfly Identification and Recording

Join our Wild Spaces team as they help you build new skills in identifying and recording butterflies. This workshop well help you identify the common species around Perth, and show you different ways you can support Butterfly Conservation through recording.

Butterflies are excellent indicators of climate change and are important pollinators. Help Butterfly Conservation learn more about how butterfly numbers are doing in your local area.

Learn about the different ways you can get involved, from casual recording while on walks, to taking part in our regular transect walks.

What to expect:

Please join us in the Sanderman room. 10am- 2:30pm.

The morning will be spent indoors looking at the importance of butterflies and introducing some tips for identification.

After lunch we will spend some time outdoors looking for butterflies and putting our ID skills to practice before returning indoors to learn more about the different ways you can get involved with recording.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Time spent outdoors will be dependant on the weather.

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a lunch with you or visit one of the local lunch spots.
