Want to win a hedgehog home? Going along to the Scone Palace Garden Fair? Visit us, Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust and Tayside Biodiversity Partnership at our nature pagoda to find out more. We will be there on the 31st May and 1st June, 10am to 5pm.

Together we will be collaborating to host a nature pagoda at Scone Palace Garden Fair. There will be no schedule, instead activities and stall information will be available for the whole duration of the event for people passing.

  • Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust will be raising awareness of PKCT work on active travel, different trails etc. There will also be a chance to learn about the large landscape scale recovery project and how important garden level solutions are to create wildlife corridors.
  • Tayside Biodiversity Partnership will be letting people know about the making way for nature campaign. There will also be a focus on hedgehogs, providing fun packs for anyone interested.

Activities

  • Interactive question section for feedback on the Newburgh active travel route.
  • Matching birds to the bird box (for all ages)
  • Seed planting station which will allow people to plant something which benefits wildlife. This will be a free giveaway
  • Join us and the Butterfly Conservation to learn about quick swaps for pollinators, looking at super foods, such as caterpillar food plants which work in gardens. This will be simple things for quick solutions within gardens. The high and low nectar comparison planters will be used to demonstrate what can be done to help, low nectar examples might include what people would commonly put in your garden, but if we were all to swap for native plants, this would provide a high nectar source.

Organised by PK Climate Action, Tayside Biodiversity Partnership, Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust
