Young Scot Hive (#YSHive) and the Scottish Government are interested in hearing views on the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy from lots of different types of people. This event will give young people the opportunity to share their views and opinions on the Strategy and the wider consultation.
You will receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher and 250 Young Scot Rewards points for attending.
This session will include:
- Welcome and Introduction: A chance to find out more about Young Scot
- Short Presentations: Introduction to Scotland’s Biodiversity Strategy and key themes
- Activity: What matters to you? Interactive activity exploring what topics and issues matter to you in relation to biodiversity, nature and the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy
- Q&A: A chance for the team and current volunteers to answer your questions

Dun Coillich Rural Skills Training Course
We are now taking applications for our next Rural Skills Training Course which will start on the 14th of February 2024 (closing date for applications is the 7th of February). The course runs for 20 weeks every Wednesday and some Thursdays and is completely free of charge. The course offers a mix of certified training (chainsaw, brushcutter, ATV, pesticide use, first aid), non-certified training days (dyking, ropes access, fencing, habitat monitoring); alongside practical work experience and skills development. Throughout the course, our trainees are given the opportunity to improve their wider skills and are encouraged to explore their interests and strengths in a supportive environment.
