All types of forests are needed for a sustainable future. Of course the benefits they provide will vary depending on composition, age and objectives, but all forests can meet multiple objectives and deliver ecosystem services if managed well. Currently, around 41% of our woodlands are not actively managed which can have a negative impact on the biodiversity they contain and reduce our access to timber. We need an urgent step change in the sustainable management of existing woodlands.

Following on from our joint position paper with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), Management of Existing UK Woodlands: An Opportunity for Green Prosperity, and the Forestry Commission’s recent campaign Woodland Management Matters, join us for this partnership webinar that will focus on bringing woods into management, hearing about a variety of projects and initiatives that all have management and resilience at their source.
