Green Living Fund 2025/26 Participatory Budgeting Results

The Green Living Fund is an opportunity for community groups to apply for a grant to support new initiatives that tackle climate-related priorities within the community, while also helping those in the community with the cost of living.

Public voting closed on Friday 14th November. A total of 6998 individuals voted for both the Green Living Fund and the Fairer Communities Fund proposals using the online platform.

The results for each Ward are as follows:

  • £7,000 is awarded to St Madoes and Kinfauns Parish Church to install heat pumps and solar panels at the Madoch Centre
  • £675 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £2,875 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £3,926.81 is awarded to Burrelton and Woodside Bloom Group to enhance the green space beside Cargill and Burrelton Church by increasing biodiversity of planting and habitats, plus growing food
  • £4,000 is awarded to Kettins Community Hub for retrofitting by installing more solar PV panels and increasing capacity by installing a power diverter, battery and new inverter
  • £5,000 is awarded to Alyth in Bloom to transform Boer War Memorial Plaza in Alyth into a fully accessible public space that supports climate-positive action
  • £2,900 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £12,968 is awarded to Blairgowrie Rugby Club to upgrade their Floodlights to LED lighting
  • £5,201.48 is awarded to Tay Valley Connections towards their community bus service and driver training
  • £700 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £2,600 is awarded to Pitlochry Garden Share for improving paths and working areas in their Community Food Growing garden
  • £5,746 is awarded to Draft & Flow Community Cycle Workshop to partially fund their proposal to kickstart their e-bike fleet by purchasing e-bikes
  • £8,150 is awarded to Stanley Development Trust to turn a space into a Community Garden creating a green hub for climate action
  • £1,950 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £880 is awarded to Crieff ConneXions towards their community pantry
  • £1,600 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £5,661.2 is awarded to Cycle Crieff Charity towards their Community Cycling Initiative that promotes cycling across Strathearn
  • £3,705 is awarded to Remake Scotland towards their Repair Festival focusing around repairing bikes, furniture, textiles, tech and more
  • £3,389 is awarded to Crieff Community Gardeners towards their Garden by purchasing plants and other materials to enhance the garden
  • £675 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £6,493.2 is awarded to Muthill Village Trust to create a biodiverse green space with fruit trees, bushes, wildflowers and educational signage
  • £4,000 is awarded to Muthill in Bloom toward their electric utility vehicle
  • £1,700 is awarded to Kinross-shire Youth Enterprise towards their bike loan and repair workshops, litter picks and weekly surplus food pick-ups
  • £475 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £2751.9 is awarded to Milnathort Core Paths Groups to tackle invasive species giant hogweed by funding training and personal protective equipment.
  • £3,505 is awarded to Grener Kinross-shire towards their Repair Festival focusing around repairing bikes, furniture, textiles, tech and more
  • £7,637.96 is awarded to Broke not Broken to issue digital foodbank vouchers to those experience food insecurity
  • £844 is awarded to Glenfarg Community Centre to develop a commercial standard kitchen
  • £772 is awarded to Kinnesswood in Bloom to partially fund their proposal to restore the historic garden behind Michael Bruce Cottage
  • £1,200 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £600 is awarded to Earn Community Council to fund a community leaflet that will enhance community engagement across the Earn Ward
  • £4,300 for Perth City South is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £1,148 is also awarded to South Perth Allotments to reduce the use of mains water by creating a rainwater collection system
  • £2,300 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £3,900 is awarded to Letham Climate Challenge to improve greenspace at Seven Acres by installing paths, benches and seasonal plants, improving the biodiversity of the area.
  • £10,333 is awarded to UHI Perth to create an allotment for food growing and biodiversity and to partially fund their proposal to install an electric vehicle charging station
  • £2,023.59 is awarded to Social Flock to run their School Uniform Bank, providing free preloved and new uniform packs to pupils
  • £10,146 is awarded to Churches Action for the Homeless Charity to fund a full day of workshops around reducing textile waste as part of their On The Mend project
  • £7,860.60 is awarded to Perth Autism Support that will fund their application to upgrade the PAS Perth Centre Hub with energy-efficient LED lighting

Proposals have been designed in to fit within at least one of the following criteria:

  • Energy – e.g. reducing consumption, promoting efficiency
  • Transport – e.g. encouraging active travel, decarbonising transport
  • Waste – e.g. reducing, reusing and recycling, repairing, sharing
  • Resilience – e.g. adapting to changing conditions – including flooding, drought
    and heat
  • Nature – e.g. improving greenspace, increasing biodiversity, local food growing
  • Engagement – e.g. increasing public awareness and engaging communities

The proposals have been screened by an expert panel to confirm feasibility. Members of the local community were able to choose which proposals will receive funding. Final evaluation of the proposals was made 50% on technical evaluation and 50% on community voting.
